Sourya Pattnaik Auditorium, one of the highlights of RIMS, was inaugurated in 2009. The auditorium has been a witness to several high profile conferences, seminars, talks, and cultural events over the years. This fully air conditioned auditorium can accommodate up to 600 persons at a time. There is a waiting area for performers just behind the stage. One of its USPs is its sound system, which is enhanced by the sound absorbing acoustic wall panels installed inside. These special wall panels completely cut the reverberation and echoing effect of sound.
To smoothly tackle any mishaps, specifically fire, there are 8 exit points in the auditorium with fire extinguishers placed at strategic points.
